THOUGHTS FROM OUR HEAD OF SCHOOL, JOSEPH VORBACH:
There is a rising tide of anticipation among the Class of 2019. Graduation-related milestones are arriving quickly, one after the other, and the knowledge that our graduation at the Shrine on May 30th is on their minds and in their hearts. The arrival of some pretty agreeable weather the past few days has probably heightened the anticipation. Yesterday was the day seniors wear the shirts and sweatshirts that reflect their plans for after high school, and the diversity of choices in colleges and universities, as well as a few other unique opportunities, is quite amazing. These young men and women have worked very hard and it is exciting to think of what is in store for them next...we are always eager to hear where they are headed and we love hearing back from them when they come back to visit.
This Sunday we will be together with the Class of 2019 at the Baccalaureate Mass and Breakfast. This is another great tradition of our graduation experience that begins with Mass in our auditorium with parents and the faculty and then continues to a breakfast in Springfield during which a guest speaker and the Class President offer remarks. This year's guest speaker is Grace Abi-Najm Shea from the DJO Class of 1993. Grace is the Executive Vice President of the Lebanese Taverna Group.
Prom is next Thursday evening, and then we are off to graduation week for the seniors and the last details of the second semester for our underclass.
Please keep the Class of 2019 and their families especially in your prayers at this special time.
