Bishop O'Connell's music program received an extra boost last week when Mr. Francis (Skip) Chaples from the organization Music for Life brought 15 new guitars to donate to the school.
Music for Life is a nonprofit organization in the metropolitan Washington D.C. area that works to allow all students, regardless of means, the opportunity to fully participate in music programs. Their volunteers and donors support both in-school and after school music programs and mentorship activities,
O'Connell offers three guitar classes this year: beginner, intermediate and advanced. "The donation of these guitars makes it possible to provide guitars to students of all levels in our growing guitar program," said Mr. Chris Jenkins, guitar instructor.
