Thank you to all faculty, staff, students, and parents for your contributions to the 2015 Chunky Soup Drive! With your help we were able to collect almost 10,000 cans of soup. The Advisories with the highest soup donations will be announced this week. Good job OC!

Congratulations to the DJO student musicians that hosted and participated in this past weekend's Diocesan Honors Music Festival.  We were joined by student musicians from Bishop Ireton, St. John Paul the Great, and Paul VI High Schools; and guest conducted by Mr. Anthony Maiello (Band), Mr. Michael Ehrlich (Chorus) and Ms. Gene Pohl (String Orchestra). All of the students did a magnificent job playing some very challenging music!!  BRAVISSIMO!"
There are quite a few costly items in Lost and Found including: bracelets, cameras, headphones and wallets. If you have previously looked for these items they may now be up in Student Life's lost and found.
The "Why I am Proud to Be an American"  Essay is due tomorrow, November 3rd by noon in room 326 or emailed to Mrs. Wentzel at mwentzel@bishopoconnell.org. No number of words are specified.  Include a title page with your name, grade and homeroom section.  Do not put your name or specific identification in your essay. Remember, you cannot win if you do not enter!
DJO has established a chapter of the Science National Honor Society. To be a member, you must be a junior or senior, have a cumulative 3.0 GPA and a 3.5 GPA in your science classes, and be enrolled in an Honors or AP science class during each of your junior and senior years. If you are interested, see Mr. Glynn or pick up an application in room 233
All young women at O'Connell are invited to attend Made for Greatness: A Young Women's Conference, which will be held at Bishop O'Connell High School on the morning of Saturday, Nov. 14th. You can register at lunches this week- just bring $15 in cash or check. You can also register online on the school website. See Ms. Funk with any questions!
