All students arriving to school before 7:20 am should go directly to the cafeteria;students should not be in the hallways of the school prior to 7:20 am unless they are meeting with a specific teacher.

Are you a writer? A poet? An artist? Or an amateur photographer? (Yes, even mad Instagram filter skills count!). The Largesse student literary magazine is back and better than ever! There will be an informational meeting for all interested students after school today and tomorrow (that’s Wednesday and Thursday) in room 321. Learn how to become an editor or published author by submitting to the student literary magazine (it looks GREAT on college applications!). No experience necessary! So stop by room 321 right after school today, or see Mr. Meehan for details.

On Thursday, September 12, the DJO Cheerleaders will be holding a bake sale in the cafeteria during all lunch periods.

Coed Cheerleading Tryouts will be held next Tuesday, September 10 from 3:15 to 5:15 and Wednesday, September 11 from 6:00 to 8:30 in the Upper Gym. Tryouts are open to Freshmen and transfer students ONLY. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Jacobsen in the counseling office.

ATTENTION SENIORS! We are still in need of volunteers for the LINK Program. The purpose of the LINK program is to "LINK" every transfer student up with a senior mentor. For applications and to pass in your LINK Program application see Mrs. Jacobsen or Mr. Giska by tomorrow, September 6.

Tomorrow is the first Friday of the month of September. Father Cozzi will be celebrating 7 a.m. Mass in the student chapel. A light breakfast will follow in the student lounge. All are welcome!

Good luck to the Lady Knights Tennis team as they face Good Counsel in their home opening match at Bluemont Park at 4:15 today!

The Pep Band is looking for dedicated individuals to play percussion! Do you play the drum set, or want to pick it up again? If so, please stop by the band room after school and talk to Ms. St.John. Pep Band typically meets on Wednesdays after school until 4:15 with a couple of rehearsals on Thursdays, in addition to the home Varsity Football Games. A complete schedule is available for you if you think you are interested in participating.

The orchestra needs a double bass player! If you play the electric bass and would like to try to learn the double bass, this is a perfect opportunity for you. Have you played a string instrument in the past and would like to try a new stringed instrument? If so, please stop by the band room and talk to Ms. St. John. A double bass is available for you to use.

Advisory Rep elections will take place during Advisory today.

Attention girls interested in playing basketball this year: The Fall open gym will be today at 7:00 in the Main Gym. Please see Mr. Edmondson for further questions.

Crew is the ultimate walk-on sport, everyone learns together, and there are no “team cuts.” Please join us for an informational meeting today after school in room 140, and on Saturday, September 7 from 10:30am to 12:30pm at Thompson’s boat center, located at 2900 Thompson’s Avenue NW, Washington DC. Auditions for the fall musical drama Little Women: A Civil Christmas will be held Thursday and Friday, September 5 and 6, after school in the Auditorium. Actors, Singer, Artists, and Technical Crew are needed. See Ms. Milam or Drama Call Board for more information.

The Welcome Back Dance is this Friday, September 6th. Admission is $5 per person, and the dance will run from 8:00pm – 11:00pm. If it’s not Neon, IT’S NOT ON.
