THOUGHTS FROM OUR HEAD OF SCHOOL, JOSEPH VORBACH:

Happy Easter!  I hope that everyone enjoyed a well-deserved break.

During this first week back, we had a student talent show assembly with a brilliant array of performances. The assembly serves as a foretaste of all the talent that will be on display tomorrow night at our annual Festival of the Arts. If you've never been to this event, I hope you can fit it in tomorrow evening. In additions to the hundreds of pieces of studio art on display, you'll be treated to a variety of live choral, instrumental, and dance performances. The students are excited to share their gifts with all of us and your presence means a lot.

Speaking of student achievement, there was a nice moment after Mass today when Sister Catherine announced the valedictorian, salutatorian, and praetor for the class of 2019. The student body, particularly the seniors, celebrated the announcement of Alexandra Barrett as valedictorian, William Becht as salutatorian, and Paul Ward as praetor (pictured below in reverse order with our Academic Dean, Sister Catherine Hill, IHM). We are particularly happy for these three, but we know that throughout the school, students are achieving goals that they set for themselves... an A in math, the completion of their first AP course, satisfaction with their research paper in English... and we salute all those achievements.

Another highlight of the week was a wonderful PTO-hosted catered luncheon on Wednesday for our faculty and staff. I speak for the whole team when I say that this was a very special treat during a very busy time of the year. We appreciate the thoughtfulness that went into this event. Thank you!

The coming weeks will go by quickly and it's our collective objective to keep our students focused through the finish line.
