Students from Mr. Paul Gerton’s Principles of Engineering class recently took a trip to Culpeper, Va. to visit production facilities at Tanom Motors.
Tanom Motors manufactures a three-wheeled motorcycle style vehicle called the Invader. Dave Young, co-owner and CFO of Tanom, gave the students a personal tour of the assembly line, explaining the processes used in each stage of production. He also discussed several important business aspects that included meeting safety regulations, marketing, and economics.
“This area does not have a plethora of manufacturing facilities,” said Gerton. “This was a great opportunity for our engineering students to see in practice some of the concepts they have been studying in class.”
