Senior John Patterson was honored at a recent awards dinner hosted by the Catholic Business Network of Northern Virginia (CBN-NV). He was among four diocesan high school students who were named 2014 Yes! Award recipients for their community service and leadership.
Patterson is editor of the O'Connnell school newspaper, president of the senior class, a member of the cross country team, and an honors student. He also participated in the school's mission trip to Haiti last summer.
Although all awardees were present at the event, CBN-NV created a special video that included interviews of each of the recipients. Arlington Bishop Paul S. Loverde, who was an honored guest at the event, said he was impressed by the personal video testimonies of the students because they were articulate, inspiring, humble and Christ-rooted.
