For the third year in a row, the Bishop O'Connell field hockey team has hosted a special "Play 4 the Cure" game to raise the visibility of cancer research needs. This cause is particularly close to many of the players whose families have been affected by cancer, and they are inspired by head coach Mary Quinn who underwent cancer treatment not long after she began coaching the team in 2011.
The National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR) featured the Lady Knights and their "Play 4 the Cure" game in a recent video.
