Today is the day to have make-up ID pictures taken. If you don't have a current school year ID please go to the auditorium during lunches or Knight Time.

 Robotics Club will meet today after school at 3:10 in room 212.

There will be an SCA meeting after school today in the auditorium. All councilors, officers, and advisory reps need to attend.

To all sophomores: make sure you are checking your swipe in the morning as the counselors have begun individual appointments. Also, make sure you are completing the blue college readiness sheet and returning it to either Ms. Stuhlman or Mrs. Black by September 15.

The Theology department will be hosting a series of debates sponsored by the Diocese of Arlington. This event is free to our students and staff! We are looking for a few student volunteers to serve as ushers, hosts and tour guides on Monday, Sept. 15, and Monday, Sept. 22 from 5 - 9:30 pm. Please see Coach Owens for details room 224. Underclassmen may receive service hours for volunteering!

There will be a meeting of the O'Connell SADD Club this coming Monday, Sep. 15 during "B" Lunch in the Upper Auditorium Balcony.

Ms. Webb will be holding information sessions about the Global Studies Certificate Program on Monday, Sept. 15. All sophomores interested in registering for Global Studies need only attend one session to learn more about the Global Studies program. If you are unable to attend, please see Ms. Webb. If you are a junior interested in registering for Global Studies, please see Ms. Webb to schedule a meeting or to attend one of the sessions.

The Social Justice Club will have its first meeting Wednesday, September 17, at 3:05 pm, in room 221 to discuss issues students wish to support, raise awareness of, and fund raise for.  All are welcome.

There will be a Young Women's Leaders meeting Wednesday, Sep. 17 at 3:30 in room 113. We will be discussing plans for the year. If you have any questions see Ms. Fratrik.

Juniors it is almost time to order your class ring! You can order your ring this Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday during lunches.

Thank you for your interest in an O'Connell all-male A Capella group. Audition dates will be Thursday, September 18 during Knight Time and after school, as well as Friday during Knight Time. Come ready with a song of your choice to sing. There will be a sign up sheet on the band room door. Please sign up for a time. 

The Spanish Club will hold the first meeting of the year on Thursday in Room 313 at 3:05 pm. We will elect the Spanish club officers and plan the activities for the first semester. Please see Sra. Pacheco if you are interested, but are unable to attend the meeting.

There will be an FBLA - Future Business Leaders of America meeting on Thursday the 18 at 3:30 in room 113. If you have any questions see Ms. Fratrik. 

Attention junior and senior women of O'Connell!  Ms. Funk would like to invite you to the first meeting of Fiat (a girls' group) on Thursday, Sep. 18 in room 222, at 11:31 (Lunch B).  Fiat is a weekly group for young women who want to grow deeper in their relationship with Christ.  For more details, come to the first meeting! 

Medical Missionaries and the Interact Club will hold their first meetings and elect officers for the year.  All are welcome to join.  Meet in room 326 at 3:00 on Thursday Sept. 19! 

McLean Community Players are looking for an all-teenage cast for the musical play "13."  The play will run on weekends from January 30 to February 15.  Auditions will be held at 7pm on September 22 and 23.  Be prepared to sing and dance.  Details can be found in room 120, that's Dr. Le Blanc's room.

The executive board of the Social Studies Honor Society, Rho Kappa would like to invite all juniors and seniors with a 3.5 GPA or above, who are not already a member of our club, to apply as soon as possible. Application forms can be found from one of us or from Mr. Haas in Room 124. It only costs $10 to join. Rho Kappa is an elite, nation-wide club that looks great for college applications, and it will reward you with a cord to wear for graduation.

Attention for all returning seniors who were inducted into Rho Kappa last year: To remain in the club, you must fill out an application form and pay $5 to receive your cords at graduation this year. All applications and payments are due by Friday, September 26.

The first event in our Global Studies speaker series will be the library directly after school on Wednesday, September 24th-please be prompt. Our honored guest speaker will be Bishop O'Connell Alum, Paul Singh. He is the founder of Disruption Corporation and general partner of Disruption's post-seed venture capital arm, Crystal Tech Fund. This event is mandatory as important business will be discussed, please see Ms. Webb if you are unable to attend.

There will be a mandatory meeting for SENIOR Global Studies students only on Monday, September 22 at 3pm in room 319.

All students planning to register for Global Studies, please return your signed purple sheets to Ms. Webb ASAP in order to begin your program.

Did you volunteer over the summer? Would you like to see if your summer service hours will be approved for your Christian Service Project? Please go to the Christian Service website, click on the INTENT TO SERVE form and fill it out. Visit Ms. Hogan in the Christian Service Office during Knight Time for any questions or to discuss their summer hours. Summer service hours submissions are due Wednesday, Oct. 1.
