The Spring-Summer edition of the Virginia Hospital Center newsletter highlights the quick actions that helped save the life of O'Connell alumnus, Trey Carter '13 at a varsity basketball game earlier this year.
Carter, a freshman at the University of Maryland who previously served as an O'Connell basketball manager, was watching the Jan. 9 home game vs. Paul VI from the railing area just outside the coaches' offices when he suddenly collapsed. Through the quick action of school staff members and medically trained bystanders, along with prayers from a packed gym, Carter was stabilized and able to be transported to the hospital for further treatment.
