Of course, you are welcome to bring your envelope to the SCA room any time. Congratulations to the entire O’Connell Drama Department, including the terrific Tech crew, the musicians, the actors and the actresses, and “Toto too” on a fantastic production of Ms. E’s Wizard of Oz. The combined energy of the principle actors, the special effects, the fantastic set, the spot-on choreography, the clever use of the scrim, the beautiful, creative costumes, and the awesome direction of Ms. E and Nick created an evening (and afternoon) of wonderfulness from beginning to end!
Paving on Little Falls Road will continue today and conclude tomorrow. Students are encouraged to use all student parking in the lots before parking on other neighborhood streets. If you must park in the neighborhood, please pay close attention to all signs and be courteous neighbors..
O'Connell's annual SADD assembly is Friday April 11th and this year the SADD club has planned an entire week for students to learn about making good decisions while driving. On Monday the halls will be decorated by the SADD Club and snow cones will be distributed for FREE. You will also be able to sign a pledge. On Thursday, there will be games and contests during your lunch periods like a pie eating contest and a drunk driving goggle obstacle course! On Friday, there is a dress down day and there is also the annual SADD club assembly. So DJO-let's get pumped for SADD week which is next week!!
Global Studies students- Ms. Funk will be offering the core course, Morals and Ethics for a Globalized World, tomorrow, April 8th from 2-5pm in room 319. This is a sophomore retreat and AP review session day. This course begins after both, at 2pm. Mr. Betthauser will be offering the core course, Foundations of Global Business and Finance, on Thursday, April 10th directly after school from 3- 6pm in room 319. Pizza dinner will be provided.
Royalettes will be holding tryouts for the 2014-2015 this week. 4 clinics will be offered on April 7-10, and tryouts on the 11th. You must attend at 2 clinics in order to tryout. Go to bishopoconnell.org/dance for more details.

Please note that there has been a change of dates in the Pro-Life Speech contest for Juniors and Seniors due to the change in the B1 day this week. The contest will now run from 11:00 am until all the contestants are heard on Thursday, April 10. If you are interested in participating to try to win some of the $400 prize money, please email or see Mrs. Wentzel in room 326 ASAP. The top 2 winners will represent DJO in the State contest in May.
Are you interested in becoming a Keyette? All freshmen, sophomore and junior girls are invited to a short, required informational meeting to be held after school at 3:10 pm in room 114 on Wednesday April 9 or Thursday April 10.
