Assistant Athletic Director Tommy Orndorff catches up with the swim and dive teams and shares their latest triumphs, highlighting their stellar performances at the recent Virginia Independent School Athletic Association (VISAA) Swimming and Diving Championships at the Freedom Aquatic Center in Manassas, Va.
Among the many highlights were a few records broken:
Sophomore Sarah Cahill broke a 15-year old O'Connell team record in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.40.
Senior Jack Gigliotti, who will be diving for Virginia Tech next year, won the state championship and broke the oldest school record on the board (set in 1988). His one-meter diving score was 424.05.
