Scott PochickBishop O'Connell High School has named W. Scott Pochick as the school's new chief financial officer.

Pochick comes to O'Connell most recently from Saint Theresa Parish and School in Ashburn, where has served as the business manager for the past two years. In this role, he managed the financial and accounting operations of both the church and the school.

He has two decades of professional experience, including a strong background in non-profits.

Pochick previously served as the director of finance for the City of Radford, Va., where he was responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the city, including managing annual audits for the Radford City Schools. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Accounting in 1991, and successfully earned his CPA license in 1993.

He and his wife, Michelle, are the parents of two school-aged sons. They are parishioners at St. Theresa in Ashburn.

"I am very excited to join the Bishop O'Connell family as they pursue their mission with a rich tradition of excellence," said Pochick. "I am looking forward to being a part of the team shaping the vision of Bishop O'Connell's future."

O'Connell's head of school, Bill Crittenberger, calls Pochick "the whole package."

"He is a humble, kind, and loving family man of deep Catholic faith who has an exceptional array of work backgrounds and relevant experiences, to include, most recently, within the Arlington Diocese," said Crittenberger. "His work is marked by integrity, high quality and delivery, and exceptional customer service, and I look forward to all that he will bring to our leadership team."
